Decoupage rice paper is thin, strong and flexible, so it wraps edges and curves and lays down flat for a hand-painted look in a fraction of the time. Use it on painted or raw wood, MDF, canvas, glass, metal and more: furniture, wood signs, trays, boxes and gifts. Each Decoupage Central listing is one sheet: sheets start at $3.50, and the larger sheets are $6.

Mint by Michelle papers are made especially for furniture art and refurbishing, with classic paintings, vintage portraits, florals and bold modern designs. Each design comes in two sizes: A3 (11.7" x 16.5") for $19.95, or A1 (23.4" x 33.1") for $32.95, which is big enough to cover a dresser top or a cabinet door.

Quick tip: rice paper is a little see-through, so a white or light base coat keeps the colors bright. Brush on a thin layer of decoupage medium, smooth the paper from the center out, let it dry and seal it with a water-based clear top coat. Mint papers include their own application instructions.
