The longest of the Finger Lakes, cut in real wood

Cayuga Lake stretches about 38 miles north from Ithaca at its southern tip and reaches 435 feet at its deepest, second only to Seneca among the Finger Lakes. This map runs the whole length, from Seneca Falls, Cayuga and Auburn at the north end, past Aurora, Long Point State Park and Taughannock Falls State Park, down to Myers Park, Cayuga Heights and Northeast Ithaca at the south end.

How we make it

The land is layered maple, laser-cut along the shoreline and engraved with the towns, parks and highways. Underneath, the water is hand-painted blue with the lake's depth contours scored in, so the shoreline casts a real shadow. Then we frame it in 1/2" stained walnut. Every map is cut, painted and assembled by hand in our Newark, NY shop.
