All of Aruba, cut in real wood

Aruba is about 20 miles long and sits in the southern Caribbean, just north of Venezuela. This map takes in the whole island, from Arashi, Palm and Eagle Beach on the west coast past Oranjestad and Barcadera, up to the little yellow Alto Vista Chapel on the north shore hills, and down to San Nicolas on the sunrise side.

How we make it

The land is layered maple, laser-cut along the shoreline and engraved with the towns, beaches and roads. Underneath, the water is hand-painted blue with the island's offshore depth contours scored in, so the shoreline casts a real shadow. Then we frame it in 1/2" stained walnut. Every map is cut, painted and assembled by hand in our Newark, NY shop.
