Casey Key, Florida, cut in real wood

Casey Key runs along Florida's Gulf Coast in Sarasota County between Osprey and Venice, with Nokomis Public Beach on the key, Little Sarasota Bay behind it, and US 41, Laurel and Oscar Scherer State Park on the mainland side. If you've rented a house on Casey Key or watched the sunset from Nokomis Beach, this is your key.

How we make it

The land is layered maple, laser-cut along the shoreline and engraved with the roads and landmarks. Underneath, the water is hand-painted blue with the depth contours scored in, so the shoreline casts a real shadow. Then we frame it in 1/2" stained walnut. Every map is cut, painted and assembled by hand in our Newark, NY shop.
